Alex Hardy works in the medium of language, that is to say, the focus of his practice is language itself. The work takes many forms including projection, the written word, print, screensavers and installation. Alex uses various techniques to reflect, remove, loop or split language from meaning. This opens up the possibility for more personal and aware relationships between the two. These techniques include the automatic creation of word patterns that abstract the content through a lack of context. Another technique is to create layered networks of references and associations around a specific word or object. Alex lives and works in Bristol.
